Jazz in de Gracht

23/06/2018 by Leonie Persoon

Jazz in de Gracht 2019
August 29-30-31 th

Jazz in de Gracht (literally Jazz in the Canal) festival is different from other festivals. Instead of huddling in front of various stage, this festival takes place at the canals of The Hague. Find yourself a nice spot on our boat, sipping a drink and wait for the musicians to float over to serenade the audience before floating off to the next area. You can organise your own event, hire the boat privately !
This festival creates a unique atmosphere and is a way to truly enjoy our beautiful city and all the talent that is hidden within. Despite its name, the festival does not only revolve around Jazz music. Styles such as blues and other musical influences also have a place at this event. This event is already running for several years in The Hague. The last years extend with a new spot- Veenkade- and – Hooikade- Jazz in de Gracht starts at 6 PM and ends around 11 PM.

Experience Jazz in de Gracht on a private boat !

Days like these come in few and are special in The Hague. Residents in the area open their balcony doors to enjoy the music, and others gather alongside the canals to soak up the good vibrations that spread throughout the city. The experience from the waterside is complete different ! Meet-up with friends and make a reservation. Please feel free to bring your own food and drink!

I want to paint it black

11/06/2015 by Leonie Persoon

On this sunny day i can tell you the story of painting the boat. How many layers of primer first ( gold colour) and then another grey layer…specially for those parts touching the water, ect.ect. But that is probably so boring. Although it is interesting to calculate the immensely amount of containers paint. Sorry i’m too tired to make the calculation. For Daisy only the last make-up is true! that’s makes her beautiful, and nobody will see her thick layers of foundation any more. And of course we’re going for black. The ribbon in the middle and the bench is a indefinable colour of orange. Brick-red ? Rust brown? you name it, we love it!

Stairway to heaven

20/05/2015 by Leonie Persoon

Well the hole boat building is a piece of art, of course….but the stairs is really an unique design of Jan! It can be used, not only as stairs, its even a shutter. You can lift it up, access to storage ( do we have more beer? ) or when its down, the guide can use it as a chair. Might not be the most comfortable place to sit down( its probably going to be my spot) . Its a very safe stairs, you can’ t step next to the steps and of course a proper guardrail will be made. All this in at the front of the boat. Back in the boat, the engine is almost ready . Yanmar 20 PK ; one of the best and cleanest diesel engine of the world.
